Privacy and storage
How local saves, optional public memorials, cookieless analytics and anonymous player presence work.
Local game data
Game progress and written reflections are stored in your browser for ordinary local play. Export a backup to move devices. Clearing site data or losing access to that browser can remove saves and publishing-ownership information.
Game backups can contain written reflections and other content you entered. Treat exported files as personal files and share them only deliberately. This public reference never reads or publishes a visitor’s save.
Optional public community content
A life becomes public only when you choose to publish it. The selected summary, room or album information and public messages are stored in this site’s dedicated database and can be viewed by other visitors. Reflections are included only when selected for publication.
The browser that publishes a memorial retains ownership information used for removal. Report unsuitable public content using the available controls or contact contact@1in8bn.com. Do not put private personal information into public content.
Automatic cookieless analytics
The site automatically sends cookieless usage statistics to PostHog and Google Analytics. There is no analytics Cookie banner. GA4 analytics storage and advertising storage remain denied; Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled. PostHog uses cookieless mode, without session recording or persistent person profiles.
Analytics records page visits and selected usage events. Private save contents, written reflections and URL query parameters are not intentionally sent. Cookieless does not mean that no network information is processed: analytics services receive requests, and the PostHog proxy passes network information needed for its cookieless processing. Browser or extension blocking can prevent delivery.
Player presence and support
An anonymous browser session is counted for a short window, approximately two minutes, to display active-player presence. The feedback form sends your message, category, interface language and optional reply email through Resend to our Zoho support inbox. Game saves are not attached. Short-lived hashed request counters limit spam. You can also email contact@1in8bn.com directly with support, privacy or removal questions.
This page describes the current product behavior and does not promise indefinite save retention or recovery. If that behavior changes, the public reference should be reviewed and updated.
